At-will employment

A contractual relationship where an employer can terminate an employee for any reason, or no reason, and an employee can leave employment at any time for any reason. This arrangement exists unless a specific contract or law provides otherwise, such as for discrimination or retaliation. Most employment in the United States is presumed to be at-will.
