Discrimination

Unfair or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, sex, or disability. This involves making distinctions in treatment or favor on a basis other than individual merit. Federal laws such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations.
