Methods for resolving legal disputes outside of traditional court litigation. These processes include mediation, arbitration, and negotiation, offering parties a less formal and potentially faster way to reach a settlement. Many jurisdictions encourage or require parties to attempt alternative dispute resolution before proceeding to trial.
