Ancillary administration

A secondary probate proceeding conducted in a state other than the decedent's primary domicile, necessary when the decedent owned real property in that additional state. This process allows for the proper transfer of title to the out-of-state assets according to the laws of that jurisdiction. It is subordinate to the primary probate administration occurring in the decedent's home state.
