To annul or terminate a contract, agreement, or legal instrument, rendering it void and unenforceable from a specified point in time. This action releases parties from future obligations under the agreement, although rights and duties accrued prior to cancellation may still be enforceable. Cancellation can occur by mutual agreement, by operation of law, or due to a breach by one of the parties.
