Vitiate

To impair or spoil the legal validity or effectiveness of something, rendering it defective or void. An act or omission that vitiates a contract, will, or other legal instrument makes it unenforceable or subject to being set aside. For example, fraud or duress can vitiate consent, thereby invalidating an agreement.
