Abrogate

To repeal or cancel a law, regulation, or agreement by an act of a legislative body or through a legal process. This action renders the previous legal instrument null and void, removing its force and effect. Abrogation can occur through explicit legislative action or by the enactment of a new law that directly contradicts an older one.
