Repeal

The act of revoking or withdrawing a law, statute, or regulation, rendering it no longer valid or enforceable. This legislative action can be explicit, where a new law directly states the old law is abolished, or implicit, where a new law conflicts with and supersedes an older one. A repealed law ceases to have legal effect from the date of its repeal.
