Carrier's lien

A legal right held by a carrier to retain possession of goods until the freight charges and any other lawful charges for their transportation have been paid. This lien serves as security for the carrier's compensation for services rendered. If the charges remain unpaid, the carrier may have the right to sell the goods to recover the outstanding amount, subject to legal procedures.
