Factor's lien

A statutory or common law right of a factor, who is an agent selling goods on commission, to retain possession of goods or proceeds from their sale until the factor's advances and commissions are paid. This lien provides security for the factor's services and expenses. It typically attaches to goods consigned to the factor for sale.
