Case of first impression
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-000878
A legal dispute or issue for which there is no existing precedent or controlling legal authority in a particular jurisdiction. When faced with such a case, a court must make a decision based on general legal principles, analogous cases from other jurisdictions, or public policy considerations.
