Charitable trust purposes

The specific objectives for which a charitable trust is established, typically including the relief of poverty, advancement of education or religion, promotion of health, or other purposes beneficial to the community. These purposes must be exclusively charitable and not for private gain. The Internal Revenue Service provides guidelines for what constitutes a valid charitable purpose under tax law.
