Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-001170

To implicitly or explicitly forgive or overlook an offense, particularly in the context of marital misconduct, by treating the offender as if the offense had not occurred. This act suggests a willingness to resume a normal relationship despite the transgression. In family law, condoning an act of marital fault can sometimes bar a party from seeking a divorce based on that fault.
