Constructive force

A legal concept where the threat of force, rather than actual physical contact, is sufficient to constitute an element of a crime or tort. This implies that a person's will is overcome by intimidation or fear, even without direct physical violence. It is often relevant in cases of robbery or assault where a weapon is displayed but not used.
