Constructive contract

A legal fiction created by courts to prevent unjust enrichment, where no actual agreement between parties exists. Also known as a quasi-contract, it imposes an obligation on one party to pay another for benefits received, even without a formal contract. The law implies a promise to pay for services or goods rendered under certain circumstances.
