Corpus delicti
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-001329
The body of a crime, referring to the fundamental facts proving that a crime has actually occurred. This typically involves two elements: that a certain result has been produced (e.g., a death in a murder case) and that a person is criminally responsible for it. It does not necessarily mean the physical body of a victim, but rather the objective proof that a crime was committed.
