Cumulative sentence

A sentence for multiple criminal offenses where the periods of incarceration are served consecutively, meaning one after the other. This results in a longer total term of imprisonment than if the sentences were served concurrently. Judges typically have discretion to impose cumulative or concurrent sentences based on the nature of the crimes and the defendant's record.
