Cumis counsel

Independent legal representation provided to an insured party when a conflict of interest arises between the insured and their insurance company. This conflict occurs when the insurer's defense strategy could prejudice the insured's interests, such as when some claims are covered and others are not. The insurer is obligated to pay for this separate counsel to protect the insured's rights.
