Declaration

A formal statement or assertion, often made under oath or penalty of perjury, that attests to a fact or set of facts. Declarations are frequently used in legal proceedings as evidence, particularly in motions or affidavits, to present information to the court. A declaration can also refer to a formal announcement of legal rights or intentions.
