Domain name

A unique identifier that specifies an Internet resource, such as a website or email address. It consists of a series of alphanumeric labels separated by dots, forming a hierarchical structure. Domain names are registered through accredited registrars and are governed by policies set by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
