Dual national

An individual who is a citizen of two countries simultaneously, holding the rights and obligations of citizenship in both nations. This status arises through birth in one country to parents who are citizens of another, or through naturalization in a second country without renouncing original citizenship. Each country's laws determine how dual nationality is acquired, retained, or lost.
