Eleemosynary

Relating to or dependent on charity; a charitable purpose. An eleemosynary institution is one established for purposes of charity, such as a hospital, school, or foundation dedicated to public welfare and supported by donations. For federal tax purposes, such organizations must meet the requirements of Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) to qualify for tax-exempt status.
