Emolument

Any profit, gain or advantage received from holding an office or position, including salary, fees and other benefits of office. The Constitution has two Emoluments Clauses: the Foreign Emoluments Clause bars federal office holders from accepting emoluments from foreign states without congressional consent, and the Domestic Emoluments Clause limits the President to the fixed compensation set by Congress, with no payments from the United States or any state.
