Emotional distress

A type of mental suffering or anguish caused by the negligent or intentional actions of another. This can include symptoms such as anxiety, depression, humiliation, or severe grief. In some jurisdictions, a plaintiff may recover damages for emotional distress even without accompanying physical injury, particularly in cases of intentional infliction of emotional distress.
