Mental anguish

A form of non-economic damages awarded in civil lawsuits for the emotional suffering, distress, or pain experienced by an individual due to another's wrongful act. This includes feelings such as grief, anxiety, fright, humiliation, and sorrow. Compensation for mental anguish is often sought in personal injury cases, defamation, or wrongful death claims.
