Commerce Clause

A provision in Article I, Section 8 of the United States Constitution granting Congress the power to regulate commerce among the several states, with foreign nations, and with the Indian tribes. This clause has been interpreted broadly by the Supreme Court to permit federal regulation of economic activities that substantially affect interstate commerce.
