The act of unlawfully coming onto another person's property, a key element in the crime of burglary or the tort of trespass. For burglary, entry can be satisfied by any part of the defendant's body, or an instrument used by the defendant, crossing the threshold of the structure. In trespass law, the physical intrusion onto land, even if slight and unintentional, constitutes an entry.
