Exclusive license

A grant of rights from an intellectual property owner to another party, allowing the licensee to use the intellectual property to the exclusion of all others, including the licensor. This means no other party, not even the original owner, can exercise the licensed rights within the defined scope. Exclusive licenses are common in patent, copyright, and trademark agreements.
