Executed remainder

A future interest in property that is certain to take effect in possession after the termination of a preceding estate, such as a life estate. This type of remainder is vested, meaning the identity of the remainderman is known and there are no conditions precedent to its vesting. It is distinguished from a contingent remainder, which has conditions that must be met.
