Remainder subject to a condition precedent
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-004213
A future interest in property that will vest in the grantee only if a specified condition occurs before or at the termination of the preceding estate. This interest is not certain to become possessory because its vesting depends on an uncertain event. For example, a grant to 'A for life, then to B if B survives A' creates such a remainder for B.
