Fiduciary relationship

A legal relationship where one party, the fiduciary, acts on behalf of another party, the principal or beneficiary, and is bound to act in the principal's best interests. This relationship is characterized by trust and confidence, imposing a higher standard of care and loyalty than ordinary business dealings. Examples include attorney-client, trustee-beneficiary, and agent-principal relationships.
