A person or entity authorized to act on behalf of another, known as the principal, thereby creating a legal relationship. The agent's actions within the scope of their authority bind the principal, as if the principal had performed the acts themselves. This relationship is fiduciary in nature, imposing duties of loyalty, obedience, and care on the agent.
