Agent for acceptance of service

An individual or entity officially designated to receive legal documents, such as summonses and complaints, on behalf of another party in a legal proceeding. This designation allows for proper notification of lawsuits or other legal actions when the principal party is unavailable or located in another jurisdiction. Corporations often appoint a registered agent in each state where they conduct business for this purpose.
