Implied authority

The power of an agent to act on behalf of a principal, not explicitly granted but reasonably necessary to carry out the agent's express authority. This authority is inferred from the nature of the agency relationship, custom, or the agent's position. For instance, a manager has implied authority to hire staff within their department.
