Fieri facias

A writ of execution issued by a court, directing a sheriff or other authorized officer to seize and sell the property of a judgment debtor to satisfy a monetary judgment. This legal instrument empowers the officer to levy upon the debtor's goods and chattels. The proceeds from the sale are then used to pay the judgment creditor, with any surplus returned to the debtor.
