Foreseeability

The reasonable anticipation that an act or omission could result in harm or injury. In tort law, foreseeability is a key element in determining whether a defendant owed a duty of care to the plaintiff and whether their actions were the proximate cause of the injury. It establishes a limit on liability, as individuals are generally not held responsible for unforeseeable consequences.
