Fraudulent concealment

The deliberate suppression or withholding of a material fact that a party has a duty to disclose, with the intent to deceive another and induce them to act to their detriment. This act extends the statute of limitations for bringing a claim, as the period begins only when the fraud is discovered or reasonably should have been discovered. It requires an affirmative act of concealment or a failure to disclose when a fiduciary or other special relationship creates a duty to speak.
