Gun Control Act of 1968

A federal law in the United States that regulates the firearms industry and firearms owners. It prohibits certain categories of individuals, such as convicted felons and those adjudicated as mentally defective, from possessing firearms. The Act also established federal licensing requirements for firearms manufacturers, importers, and dealers, and restricted interstate firearms sales.
