Machinegun

A firearm that shoots, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger. Federal law, specifically the National Firearms Act of 1934 and the Firearm Owners' Protection Act of 1986, heavily regulates the possession, transfer, and manufacture of machineguns. Most civilian ownership of newly manufactured machineguns is prohibited.
