Hazard insurance

A type of property insurance that protects against damage to a home or other structure from specific perils, such as fire, windstorms, hail, or vandalism. This coverage is often a requirement for mortgage lenders to protect their investment in the property. It does not cover all potential risks, such as floods or earthquakes, which require separate policies.
