Independent trustee

A trustee who is not a beneficiary of the trust, nor related to any beneficiary, and has no other conflicts of interest that could compromise their impartiality. This individual or entity is appointed to manage trust assets solely for the benefit of the beneficiaries, free from personal gain or undue influence. Independent trustees are often required in complex trusts or those involving minor beneficiaries.
