Kickbacks

A form of bribery where a portion of a payment made to a person or entity is returned to another party in exchange for a favor or preferential treatment. This illicit payment is often disguised as a legitimate business expense or commission. Engaging in kickbacks is illegal and can lead to severe criminal penalties under anti-corruption laws such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
