Lemon

A consumer product, typically a new vehicle, that has substantial defects affecting its use, value, or safety, which the manufacturer is unable to repair after a reasonable number of attempts. State and federal 'lemon laws' provide remedies for consumers, such as a replacement vehicle or a refund of the purchase price. These laws vary by jurisdiction regarding the number of repair attempts or days out of service required.
