Consumer expectations test

A legal standard used in product liability cases to determine if a product is defective. It assesses whether the product performed as safely as an ordinary consumer would expect when used in an intended or reasonably foreseeable manner. This test focuses on the user's reasonable understanding of the product's safety characteristics.
