Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-003029

A person who enters another's land with the owner's permission, but for the visitor's own purposes rather than for the owner's benefit, such as a social guest. The owner owes a licensee a duty to warn of known dangers that the visitor is unlikely to discover, which is a lower standard than the duty owed to an invitee.
