Marshal

A federal law enforcement officer responsible for a range of duties within the judicial system, including providing security for federal courts, judges, and jurors. Marshals also apprehend federal fugitives, transport federal prisoners, execute federal court orders, and manage assets seized from criminal enterprises. The United States Marshals Service is the oldest federal law enforcement agency in the country, established by the Judiciary Act of 1789.
