Net probate estate

The value of a deceased person's assets that pass through the probate process, after all valid debts, funeral expenses, and administrative costs have been paid. This represents the portion of the estate that is subject to court supervision and distribution according to the will or intestacy laws. Assets held in joint tenancy or with designated beneficiaries typically bypass the net probate estate.
