Nonprobate estate

The portion of a deceased person's property that transfers directly to beneficiaries without court supervision or the need for a will to be probated. This estate includes assets with beneficiary designations or specific ownership structures that bypass the probate system. It stands in contrast to the probate estate, which is subject to court administration.
