Nonfreehold estate

An interest in real property that is for a limited duration and does not involve ownership of the land itself. These estates are considered personal property, not real property. Examples include a tenancy for years, periodic tenancy, tenancy at will, and tenancy at sufferance, all commonly associated with landlord-tenant relationships.
