Tenancy at sufferance

A type of tenancy that arises when a tenant remains in possession of a property after their legal right to occupy has expired, without the landlord's consent. The tenant is considered a holdover tenant, and the landlord may choose to evict them or treat them as a periodic tenant. This tenancy does not involve a new agreement but rather the tenant's wrongful possession.
